The Corvus
I always wanted a crow or a raven for a pet. I have this weird taste for household pets: a wild feline or a black cat for the living room, green turtles and hamsters/gerbils in various glass tanks, a VERY big aviary filled with budgerigars (a kind of cute parakeet commonly and mistakenly known in the Philippines as lovebirds), rabbits in my artificial burrow-filled field, and of course a raven or two which are a bit cooler than owls.
Ravens and crows are popular characters in mythology and folklore. They are sacred to the gods Apollo, Odin, the Morrigan, and Badb. They are associated with wisdom, trickery, magic, prophecy, truth, darkness and mystery.
Crows are neat pets, aren’t they? Apart from the fact that they are uncommon animal companions, they come in handy in poking someone’s eye out whenever I’m annoyed. Hahaha.
